Brand new MIDI keyboard. LMMS won't recognize it. Help?

More specifically, the keyboard icon under "Enable MIDI input" does nothing when clicked. Any takers? I'm stymied ...

Lets start by asking what operating system you are using, windows or Linux, and on what hardware?

How is the midi keyboard connected to the pc ?

It's generally important that the keyboard is plugged in and switched on BEFORE you start LMMS. If you open LMMS and THEN plug the keyboard it won't be recognised.

Of course it's always possible the keyboard really doesn't work. Have you tried it with any other program e.g. Audacity or for real diagnostics MIDI-OX (http://www.midiox.com/) ?
