Gsnap (Or any other supported VST) Won't show up

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I'm new to LMMS, using Ubuntu 12.04 and LMMS 0.4.10. I have set the path to my VST's in settings, and it keeps the path in the settings between startups. It doesn't, however, load any VST's even though I have verified it is the correct path. I can't see why it won't load them, everywhere says to just put it in your folder and set the path and it will do the rest. Does anybody know what is wrong?

Thanks in advance.
Did you use/open the plugin Vestige before importing the Vst's into Lmms?
Vestige has to be opened first before importing any Vst's into Lmms.
Vestige is like a Vst Plugin container for VST's and Vsti's.
Well I hope I said that right. Lol! :D
That's to say, to use VST instruments, you need to add Vestige in your track, then in the Vestige plugin, there's a button that looks like a folder, click that and it lets you load a VST instrument.

VST effects should show up normally among all the other effect plugins, they just appear at the bottom of the list.
Hmm... is VeSTige supposed to come with LMMS?
It doesn't show up...
:?

You need to have Wine installed to enable VST support. LMMS doesn't support LinuxVST's at this time.
I have Wine, I can run .exe's. Is there a special version of wine I need, or some special configuration I must configure?
Hmm, waaait...

That seems like a really old version of LMMS. The latest is 0.4.15.

Are you up to compiling from source? If not, there seems to be a couple of ppa:s you could try:

http://lmms.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Installation

Try installing the latest version of LMMS from the ppa, or compiling it from source. At least when compiling, Vestige gets included if you have wine installed, so it's probably an optional feature - it may be something you have to enable in the software manager, if you install from ppa.
