uploading MIDI - tracks missing

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello,

I LOVE your product!!! I can work it easily ( not like my Roland VS 2480) & can do some serious editing with ease. AWESOME. I can't believe it's free. If I can get my bug worked out, I would even donate or upgrade!

I am importing MIDI files to edit them. I'm editing these MIDI's to play out as a solo act & sing & play guitar over them. So I'm taking out the "vocal track" & mixing them a little different.

I had version 0.4.15 loaded & then read it may have bugs. SO I tried version 0.4.13 with the same results.

I had a small android tablet that had the MOST BASIC MIDI player APP. & it played all songs with all parts. It only had like volume knobs & mute & not much else.
It seems to have nothing to do with how many tracks there are. I've loaded some that have like 16 parts or more with serious automation, etc. & they work fine.

IF you don't mind, download:

Open with Window media player. You should hear drum ( & all parts.) Hear it's a decent MIDI. That MIDI used to play on my old Android, but the drum track does not load in LMMS. I don't even see the track. Please see if that file works or if you have any advice.

IS there a way to fix this? I appreciate the help.

Sincerely,
Jimmy C.
Haha!

At last, I do not feel alone anymore. :P
I posted in the 'Wish List' section, with mention for this exact same problem (subject is: Import MIDI drums track)
I suspect that your drum track has events too short for LMMS. If you have an other MIDI seq on which you can lengthen the drum events to be more than 2 or 3 ticks, it will be imported just right, and you wil be able to ear/edit it at will.

Still do not understand the rational for this...
I still have the same problem. If I open any MIDI file in Windows Media Player, MidiEditor, or most other programs, I hear all the parts. But I can't fond one that edits like LMMS. Some MIDI files only open some of the parts or partial tracks.

I'd still like to know how to make ANY MIDI FILE play in LMMS and be edited.
The next version of LMMS has some fixes for some MIDI issues. Not sure about this particular issue though. Might be a good idea to report this on the github issue tracker just in case.

cant help you with import to lmms (yet..*) but anvil-studio (free) is a kind of lmms for midi only!
It has the same 'kind' of sequenser and even gives you a real score with notes.
All editable
For what you are trying, i realy think anvill is a better choice.

*the fact that lmms does not import the BB track named 'Kit' is propl caused by the program that generated the midi. - midi is not 'midi' there is several different 'kind' of midi-protecols. It is not a simple thing to make a program like lmms able to work with different midi-versions, so i think the problem lies there
