audio file processor

I am trying to add an mp3 to the song editor in lmms.

I have googled and read the f.a.q.

I add the audio file processor to the song editor. I click the green folder icon, and I select the mp3.

The audio file processor then shows the name of the mp3.

But what ever I try I do not hear any sound. :?

Pressing the virtual keyboard at the bottom, no sound is played.
I even tried to add a bar in the song editor, no sound.

The thing I notice, the audio file processor states sample length = 0.
I assume that to be the problem?

Is there a max length to an mp3 ?

openSUSE 13.1 64 bit, outside lmms, I do not have problems playing mp3.

Hi,
the AudioFileProcessor isn't able to play .mp3 files.
You can try to convert it in .ogg or .wav using an audio converter program or another DAW like Audacity.

omg, that simple lol.

Thank you, I will install Audacity.

Used it before.

Sound quality is not important in this case. I want to import the song for having my song at the right speed, and when to start certain parts,
Now I use a separate media player which is kind of annoying.

mp3 is not looseness so the quality will likely not improve when I convert it. ;)

I converted the mp3 to ogg ( first to wave then to ogg, but you can probably do this in one step)
I used Audacity.

Now the song plays in lmms. :D

I have to cut one sec from the beginning of the song, but that easy enough in lmms by dragging the start point.( or use audacity to do so )

Some one should edit this page though, and yes I am willing to do so, but I do not know much about webpage editing )

Q: How do I Import a MP3 or OGG file?
A: Through the AudioFileProcessor plugin.

Joking:
Now see what happens if you read the F... manual.

Serious: I am very happy with this forum and the stuff available, it has helped me already many times.

Popcorn at my pc a bit over 133 bpm, but not 134.

This works much better then an extra audio player. 8-)

It funny how you never get those songs 100 % synced. but Its close enough.

First 30 sec or so, it even sounds perfect, but then you can hear it getting a bit out of sync. :)
With other bpm settings, it goes out of sync sooner.

Noticed this before though, with a song by Vangelis. Throughout the song you needed to adjust the bpm to keep it in sync.

Hello, converted a mp3 to .wav and .ogg, but I cannot play and edit the audio in Audio File Processor.
When you have loaded the sample in Audio File Processor, does it look like left side or right
side in this picture?

It must look like left side!
If it looks like right side, you have nothing loaded in Audio File Processor
