I hate making brand new accounts just to make single posts, but here goes.

I installed LMMS on Windows 8.1, and I've been having problems with the sound.

• Portaudio gives garbled sound on any backend. Two of the backends don't even work, but that's probably for other reasons.
• On both Portaudio and SDL, cannot get the play button to work at all. The button depresses and turns to a II sign, and even sometimes begins moving the playhead, but will not play any audio.
• However, I CAN get audio by entering notes with the keyboard or the little on-screen pianos, just not through playback.

I don't think this is a sound problem entirely, but I'd like to hear other people's suggestions on how to fix this.
