is there a pitch shift plugin installed in lmms?
also, is there a way to automate the root key of a sample?
and is there a pitch envelope?

Yes, yes and no.

There's an AM pitch shifter and a couple of other pitch shift plugins. They're with the other LADSPA effects.
The green square above the virtual keyboard in the instrument window modifies the key. You can automate it the same way you can automate knobs.
No pitch envelope, you have to modify the pitch of each note separately in the piano roll.
