what parameters should i change to reduce this as much as possible?
i tried a couple of tweaks but i just can't seem to get rid of them?

also why does this happen?
i'd like to learn the theory behind this if possible.

Use a filtered reverb like Calf reverb and turn up the high-pass filter ("bass cut" in calf reverb). That should do it, if I understand correctly what you mean.

Low end woosh?
We need more info.
Which Reverb plugin you are using?

If you're using Calf Reverb, turn down the Decay knob to the left direction a bit.
That'll help reduce the Resonating Wooosh effect, if that is what your speaking about.
Hope that helps.
If not, then post more info.
