what's the best way to achieve this in lmms with zynaddsubfx?
i'm talking about the sound around 5:35 in this video

pitchbends is inside zyn, but lmms cant automate it

RC has a brand new feature : Pitch-range! That means that most instruments will have new interesting automation effects
-But ima Massive is a different animal -just look at the retailprice..
Massive is however reported to run in lmms.. -i have not tried

LMMS can indeed automate pitch bends.

The pitch knob (which is in every instrument window) corresponds to the pitch wheel on all midi-based instruments (including zyn). You can automate the pitch knob and use it to create pitch bends. The range setting is currently non-functional on zyn, but you can adjust the range in zyn itself, in the controllers subwindow.
