copy & pasting in automation

can someone tell me how to repeat a pattern in the automation editor?
i read the manual but i still can't get it to work right

everything in the manual regarding automation will be
deprecated. Cant remember if i wrothe that section, but if noone else does, i will rewrite after 1.0 is released.
But if i remember rightly.. you can use ctrl+a/v in 0.4.15 -not sure.. (habe no .15 installed
