is there anyway i can play a sound in the sample track from the middle of the sample, not from the beginning?
right now i have to chop up my samples and put them individually in the sample track if i want to do that.

Sorry, no. We are all pretty frustrated about that and it will not be fixed in the coming release, but perhaps in the next one

It will be fixed once we get some kind of timeline-tracking code or a global tempo map, so that we can even determine the point where we should start playing the sample. This isn't just a simple change to add, it needs some groundwork first. Can't really say when this would be done. Not for 1.0.0 certainly (it should be released in a matter of days).
