i know that when you construct a loop in the BB editor, you can get a shorter truncated version of the loop by changing the length of the BB block in the song editor.
eg 4 bar loop - making it 2 bars will give me the beginning half of the loop

is there a way to get not the beginning half but the end half, without actually cloning the track?

Might be better just to do the end half of the loop and then put that on repeat. There is usually another way of doing things if one way cannot be implemented.

i wasn't aware of the repeat function of lmms; i'll check out the manual for what i can do with it.

BB-patterns are always on "repeat"...
