LMMS file corrupted

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hi.
I have a LMMS project file that was corrupted during saving activity.
Is it possible to use some tool to recover the file?
Thanks!

Aua.. It depends:
IF your project is saved as a MMP, then there is a chance at least, that you can open it in any code-editor -Notepad will do fine!
But you also need to understand XML, because the MMP is based on XML

But..
IF your project is saved as a MMPZ, then there are no chance that you can open it. It is lost!

However..
LMMS has not only one fail-save feature, but actually TWO!
You have much more chance of success with these, and unless you specifically have disabled these features they are active pr default.
Read tje linked chapter from our gitBook thoroughly, and before you have read it and understood it DO NOT LOAD LMMS AT ALL!!!
You will overwrite the safety-file, and that is exactly not what you want!

That was sad.
I want to mention something that perhaps was the reason.
if you are on a labtop, running only on batteries, eg a labtop that is not plugged in. When labtops start to go down on electric charge, they can be problematic, especially when it comes to saving files. The reason is that the laptop attempt to keep it self 'alive', and if some of the household processes starts to suffer, then it can skip processes that is (falsely) regarded as 'less important'. You as a user can make some changes in setting, and enforce processes as file-handling to a higher priority, but then the laptop may 'respond' by simply crashing!
Bottom line: Always plug your laptop to the mains, when you are working with larger files!
