user defined waveform

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
i want to learn about the user defined waveform in 3xosc.
does this mean that if i have an .wav file of a dubstep wobblebass made in NI MASSIVE, and i feed it in one of the oscillators in 3xosc,
my 3xosc can now make the same sounds as a MASSIVE?

it doesn't seem to be the case as far as i experimented, since when i put a tom sample in the synth, it just made a really noisy sound.
No. If you want to playback a wobblebass or whatever, put it in AFP and loop it.

The triple osc user waveform basically takes the entire sample and uses it as a waveform. So if you use a regular sound sample, it sounds like noise because the entire sample is getting squeezed into the space of one oscillator cycle. What you need in 3xosc is a waveform sample, which is a samplefile that contains only one wave cycle.

There are some custom waveform samples provided with LMMS which you can try in 3xosc or other synths which can use them.
