Hello,

I just recently discovered LMMS. It is quite awesome.

Is there a way to map midi keys, on a keyboard or drum machine to specific sounds contained

in the Beat+Bassline Editor? In other words one keyboard/drum machine key to one drum sound (e.g. C5 = kick drum; D5 = snare).

EDIT: On second thought, maybe it would be better to have a track with a "Custom mapping," in the Song-Editor, that way, when the piano-roll

is opened, it shows a color highlight of the mapped keys and you can record a drum track "free form," using the mapped keys.

You can create a soundfont to put your drums in it, and map them on the keys you like. Soundfonts are files which can contain multiple samples mapped on different notes, there are some free software available for creating soundfonts from regular samples. Then load the soundfont up in LMMS's SF2 player, and you should be good to go.
