Hiya!!
Hokay! So here's the track I'm currently working on. So far it's still title-less, and is still very much a WIP. I've got until the end of May to finish and submit it for the KVR One Synth Challenge.
All this is right now is the base song progression. I've yet to add in the melody lines, but I do have ideas in that regard. I'll also be adding in a bit more effects, but not over-doing it.
This song is to be my entry into this month's KVR One Synth Challenge. As such, the entire thing is made with the free VSTi VOPM, which emulates the Yamaha YM2151 (available here, and other places :: http://www.geocities.jp/sam_kb/VOPM/ )
I can use some effects, as long as they don't modulate the sound beyond recognizeably coming from VOPM. (No pitchshift, flange, phase, etc .. but reverb, delay, EQ, etc is OK)

Anyhow, I'm looking for critique as to how the progression moves along, as well as how the sounds gel together (or not)
Input much appreciated.
Thanks for listening!! 8-)

Update of the track.
Added a deep bassline to it, and did a bit of re-arranging. .. Also tweaked the mastering stage a bunch.
I think it now sounds MUCH better than previously.

Link removed, no longer valid, file deleted .. Please see original post for further track updates.

More updates. Been working on this quite a bit ..... Mostly doing different mix-versions. Effects levels, the mastering chain, EQ-ing all the instruments, carefully adjusting individual instrument and effect volumes.
I think I'm finally getting there! ... but I thought that previously too ..... Never before have I spent so much time on post-production of a track .. and I'm not even sure yet that this is the final cut of everything. I mean, it mostly is, but I might alter the drums a bit, maybe add in another sound element here and there, maybe an over-riding melody line track -- tho I'm starting to think that's not really needed at this point ............ also do some volume fade adjustments. There's several places where that's pretty needed.

Ohh! To be only one instrument this is pretty fantastic! :D

I wanted a real guitar to make it more catchy, but that would have been hard with only a synth allowed
