Sound fonts verses Sound samples.

I work mostly with MIDI, or FS2
But when you have a weak instrument in the sound-font files, you need to resort to sound samples.
I have a perfect example with the piccolo in the fluid sound fonts. I made a couple of sound samples to replace the weak sound-font.

Thanks!
These sound great!
Thanks for making them ogg. format too.
Ahhhh.....a Zelda/Final fantasy type sounding song!
Lovely Music to my ears!
Those Piccolo sounds are really nice, especially the first one.
Nice work dude.
I can't wait to hear the full version of this lovely musical track!

Next time, post your incomplete or complete musical tracks, in the Projects Section of the LMMS forum.
Otherwise it might be overlooked and almost lost, for a long time, in the countless topics in this Forum.

Sorry for not getting back earlier, I was off line for awhile.
The original Piccolo sounds where weak, and too breathy for this tune, so I just needed to improvise.
Here is the complete track.

BTW I will be posting more in the projects section.

I often find soundfonts having weak sound too. First thing that I would try before resorting to individual sound samples is to add some amp, delay, reverb, and chorus effects (no particular order). It should sound stronger and fuller now. Smaller, lower quality soundfonts may not benefit much from adding these effects, though.

Thank's for the advice it works great for me, I was able to remove the breathy sound at the end of the notes, of the piccolo and amplify the sound getting the stronger sound I wanted.
This is what my soundfont sounds like now.

BTW the piccolo sounds are from my newest project, hopefully I'll have it done by the forth of July.
Now to make cannon effects.
