big midi file crash

i would like a bug fix so that bigger midi files won't crash lmms when importing

It is propl. not a question of midi-size, more of midi-version. Midi music comes in different versions, and some are quite different from std-midi, especially in header. Have you tried to open the file in other midi-supporting programs? Here i would recommend Anvil-studio -free, and versatile. If the midi is flaw-less, You can resave the file to midi0, whitch lmms will open (How big is that midi? Where do you have it from? )

The right way to squash this bug is to supply the midi file in a bug report here:

Anvil Studio ™ is a free Windows 8 / 7 / Vista / XP program.

Linux must have a midi-playing program
You could search for it, or wait -tomorrow someone should have posted it here, i hope

I just imported the 1812 overture in to LMMS without issue. The file size is 192 K. It may not be size of the midi, but something within the midi causing the crash.
