I downloaded Piano One. I realize they openly describe it as a shill to get you into the online store, but be forewarned--when you go into the Settings window, there are buttons for selecting other instruments at the upper right. Click on any one, and the Settings window is overlaid with a Store Access window that won't go away. At least, I haven't gotten it to go away yet.
You can still play the piano with current settings (sounds as impressive as they say, I must admit), but why can't they just tell you up front what the deal is? I've used software for thirty years now with the old 30 day free trial--after that, pay the activation fee or it shuts down. OK--but
they say so up front. These surprise tactics just make me wonder what else I'm in for if I do business with them. I'm strongly motivated to shop elsewhere, as impressed as I am with their product lineup. Shame, really.
But if you want to play with it, I downloaded it to a Win7 system with only 2GB RAM and the cheapie motherboard 'sound card', and it seems to perform flawlessly, with a very straightforward interface. Loads in a flash, too.
