Some Features That Should Be In LMMS

1. Drum Sequencer Similar to Ableton's Impulse
2. Notation Sequencer (For composing)
3. ASIO Compatibility For Both 32 Bit and 64 Bit versions.
4. Built-In Instrument VSTs that are similar to those from Native Instruments.

What do you guys think of what should be added to LMMS?

About the vst.

I have found more vst that work in LMMS, then I will prob ever use and even try out.

Synth1 and minimoque as an example of two who work great with LMMS.
Then there are the dsk vst's.

The only thing missing for me, is a function to make something sound like its played by a human instead of an computer.

@Gps That would be awesome to have that function in LMMS. Does any other DAW have that function? If so, Which one is it?

I do a lot of midi work with LMMS, and this sounds just like the way I played it.

Many years ago, I saw an demonstration, with an yamaha keyboard and an Atari ST computer.
( AtariST was used my many artist, because it had an midi in and midi out, out of the box.
It was the first computer, I believe to run Cubase. ( maybe togheter with the apple)
Years later there was a pc version of cubase too.
The Atari St run Cubase. The sound came not form the atari, but from the yamaha keyboard.
( midi out from cubase)

The guy showing us, made a smal rhitme.
We sad oke but that sounds very mechanical.

He then took the mouse of the Atari and did something with the notes.
It sunddenly sounded like a real drummer.
As far as I understood it it, he made a deliberate mistake in timing.

Yes, that prob one solution, to make it sound not so mechanical.

humanizeing? sure, many daws has that, especially for percussion, but it is easy to do that on your own manually, hust change the volume a tiny bit in B&B notes (scroll)
In piano-roll drag the mouse over the volume-collums, and wrickle just a bit
That will 'humanice' the score.
A lmms-feature for this is coming.. one day :p

I got an Atari 1040st for my 21st birthday ... I'm old.

Cubase had (has?) an option called 'Groove Quantize' , it shifts the timing of some notes in a more human way.
It's not only the velocity that counts.

Did you know (for example) that a real human being plays the "One" too early, it is our way of emphasizing the most important beat.

Now were getting somewere, I knew it had to do with timing.

People in general dont like computer generated music, because it to perfectly timed.
