WAV file export fails in LMMS

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Hello! Excuse me for my bad English. I am sorry.
I have trouble with my LMMS on my Win7 Home Basic. I tried find yet similar problem in bug tracker but no success.
Now i use LMMS 1.0.0 and it exports WAV files excellent. But no one version higher than 1.0.0 does not export both WAV and OGG. LMMS application not hangs immideately but transport panel displays negative values of time bars. Then any sound stops, play button does not work (presses idly). If I try to close program, it hangs and Win shuts it down. RemoteVSTPlugins stay working at task list and must be closed manually. Any settings changes had no result. Application reinstall had no result, too. What may be the cause of this bug? I just want to use the latest version of LMMS with enhancements.
I have tested 1.0.3 and exporting to wave a.o. oggforbis was no problem
Could i ask you to open a new project, set in some random notes in the default 3oc, and then try to export that to wave?
Tell me if that also fail
OK, musikbear. I have done that. LMMS 1.0.3 was loaded and installed at separate folder (not ProgramFiles). Then new project was open and some notes were put in the default 3 Osc. And then export to WAV failed again. Just now transport panel is displaying -35 min -23 sec and -648 msec. Progress indicator is showing 0%. Alas!
wow.. that is so strange..
I think you should try to re-install from scratch :/
Eg
Backup all your own stuff Preset, + projects
Use the lmms un-installer to remove everything
Delete the folders
search pc for 'lmms' -there should not be any hits!
Then download a new winx32 version of 1.0.3, and install that
Then re-try to export a test.
I must say that this problem is strange.. Never had it
Hello, musikbear!
I have done all that you said. There is no result! There is not even with register cleanining by WiseCare free and cold reboot after. I tried 32-bit and 64-bit versions both. All the same, there are negative values in transport panel. And 1.0.0 still works! Maybe, soundcard driver or device recognition procedure changed in versions later then 1.0.0? I have Xonar DS soundcard. Drivers for this card, being installed, displays sound device incorrectly in device list (with ugly font). This is true for all drivers both official from ASUS page and non-official. But I am not trusted because ocen audio editor works good, audacity works good, musescore works good, even 2.0-beta. What's wrong with my LMMS?
What's wrong with my LMMS?
wish i knew :/
One thing though
What sound-devise have you chosen in Settings
Windows handle the SDL best, and that could perhaps be an issue, if you have direct or asio
My buffer is set to frames 6400 & latency 145
What are yours?
Musikbear, I have experimented yet with settings. More that, I downloaded portaudio with asio support and LMMS 1.0.0 worked good enough with ASIO. Just now I have installed LMMS 1.0.3 and set SDL, buffer size as yours. Latency was 145,1. As yours. And the same, the same...result. It's damnation. I've found post on russian LMMS page on VKontakte with similar problem, without more discussion. Maybe it's only russian trouble? Ha-ha.
im running out of idears.. One though:
Do you change the export settings?
If you did, then try with the default export-settings. It could be that your hw dont support changes..
But thats a longshot - you have already tried with default export-settings, right?
First, I don't think you can install LMMS somewhere else than C/Program Files, unless you use the portable app http://portableapps.com/apps/music_video/lmms-portable

THE MOST IMPORTANT I have to say, is that you should uninstall the previous version(s) before installing the new one. After you have uninstalled check your Program files to see if any LMMS is left, and delete the folder if it still is there. Now all LMMS on your computer should be uninstalled?! Then install the new version, or the latest beta. Then tell us if it starts and if it works like suspected.
Sti-Jay, I already experimented with LMMS since 4.0.9 version, if my memory do not lie (started on XP). It is better to install this program in ProgramFiles folder, but LMMS works well being installed in other folders. 4.0.15 did it, 1.0.0 did it. Then I reinstalled LMMS 1.0.0 in ProgramFiles. Because it is better. Of course, I uninstalled previous versions from PC before installation of the new one. Last beta on my system shows terrible graphic (many-many coloured dots) in track lines. It works, plays sounds, but exports nothing too. Stay with LMMS 1.0.0 :)
