Mima's Theme ~ A Remix and Request For Advice

Hi everyone, my first post here.
I have just used LMMS to produce this, and I'm pretty pleased with it.
https://soundcloud.com/superspit/mimas-theme
However, I was wondering how I can improve. To me, the instruments still sound really meh (although a lot better than the music scribing software I use), but I am unsure if this is down to the samples or just me.
What do you guys think?
Many thanks for time,
RS

I think that Soundcloud is currently experiencing problems. Maybe try again in a hour or so?

Very good composition, you must be using SoundFonts? I suggest SquidFontOrchestral, I know one guy is very fond of the violin or viola in Arachno SoundFont. I don't think the sounds sounded bad at all

You could put some reverb (plate reverb is good) on the short detache violins perhaps

I wasn't expecting to find 2hu songs here, nice
Some feedback:
You could put some thunder sounds in the first 20 seconds of music.
I think that you should work more on the mastering of your song to avoid letting an instrument's volume suppress the others.
No drums?
Also you could try to use another trumpet soundfont or apply equalizers to get a better sound.

I don't know its the samples, but although I like the song, some sounds sound a bit muffled.
There is an equalizer in the plug-ins. You could try that.
