Question : Can LMMS control other software via MIDI?

On the MIDI tab for the built-in instruments there is a MIDI-Out function.
Can this be used to control external software like SAVIHost for example (enables the use of VSTi as standalone instruments)?
Can this be used to control other instruments within LMMS?

When the output device is set to 'Microsoft GS Wavwetable Synth' it plays this device as expected.

One reason for asking is that with SAVIHost it is possible to record directly to a wav file when playing live on a keyboard. This can then be used as a sample track in LMMS.
It would be cool if a sequence can be played from LMMS and as such be synchronized with the rest of the project.
