Clicks Pops and artefacts on windows -a 'hack' -fix

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
Going through the various sources, i have found a 'hack' adviced by tresf
The artefacts with 1.1 on windows are possible to control, through process priority settings

Aledgely setting priority to very-high in task-manager for the remote-vst-plugin, should remove the artefact.
However-
This is not without other possible complication, because process priority changes in realtime, can cause housekeeping processes to fail, and then the pc crash!
The issue will be in focus, when the next update is released officially.
This didn't work for me. The clicks and pops are still there. Also, the changing of process priority isn't persistent, so I have to change it each time I load up a VST.

Another thing that I've tried is changing the processor scheduling from "Programs" to "Background services" on the Performance options of Windows advanced system settings. According to this article http://www.presonus.com/community/Learn ... Production audio drivers run as background processes, so I gave it a try. This also didn't work for me.

I don't know if this is relevant to solving the problem of clicks and pops, but that article has some good tips on how to optimise your computer for music production, so I thought I'd share this.

The OP should have mentioned the bug report which links to a VBScript to do this on-demand (I wrote it, as well as the upcoming 1.2 patch).

If this doesn't help, 1.2 won't be much better for you (sorry!). We're actively working on other performance issues which may help, but they may not be available until early 2.0 builds. Sorry for the inconvenience.

After reading a few forum posts, there might be two separate issues here ,one which involves distortion for VST Effects only. Let's track these like proper bugs on our tracker and go from there please.

Ok. I have opened a new issue regarding the pops and clicks caused by assigning VSTs to FX channels. As for me, I have no issues with VST effects.
