I imported a MIDI file I created with ChordPulse. It contains no instruments die to its unique construction. Upon loading it LMMS told me I needed sound fonts. I went and got some. They sit in my downloads directory because I don't know where to put them. If the manual tells where, I can't find it. In that case the manual could use an index.

Speaking of the manual, in the glossary, letter F, Filters: The example given is wrong. It calls it a low pass filter but describes a high pass filter.
your sf-location first
In setup, there is a field for the 'default-soundfont'

From this
https://lmms.io/documentation/LMMS_Settings#Paths
section
Make folder in your installation and refere to that folder there. Any sf can be 'default', but i recommend 'general-user' You can find it here

Yes we know an index is needed :)

The filter thing. Thanks for heads up! I will take a look.
A post in this topic was used to inject adds into forum. That post is removed. The explanation for setting up soundfont support in LMMS is still valid, and we keep that in the DB.

Question:
Does the manual tells where,

Answer: It does.
You need to point to a default soundfont

Browse to the the file you want. We recommend http://www.schristiancollins.com/generaluser.php
That gives you all voices on your MIDI-table
We also have a page for SF2 resources

This:
This means that a low-pass filter set to 100Hz will let some frequencies lower than that through, although the lower the frequency, the more it will be cut.

That is not wrong
