I've got some kind of sci-fi sounding theme started. Very much a WIP at this point. No screen capture like some of my other vids, because Realtek HD chipset + CamStudio makes for crap sound. I wanted it to sound good. Too much effort to sync it with a screen capture (given the software I have), so I just exported the audio, ran it though Audacity, and stuck it on a pic to make a video in Virtualdub.

Not a bad song pauljs75, my favorite part of the song was when the synth or strings came in at 40 seconds. The string melody felt kind of eerie. At first I thought this song is too simple, but I changed my mind after listening to the part at 1:20 (kinda messy). Simple seems to fit for this song.
As the song creator, I actually agree with what you're saying. Those transitions are tricky to pull off. It's even worse when I don't have a proper piano-style keyboard to interpret exactly what I want. (The QWERTY works ok, but really feels like a crutch for this purpose. I always manage to hit "dead-note" keys when trying to use it. Unfortunately no space in my room for a big synth keyboard either.) It's easy enough to go "A, A, A" with a song theme... But "A,B,C,..." not as much. Yet I find doing the same thing for too long in a song is a bit boring, so the desire for a change-up or two is quite strong.

I've still got to finish it too. And who knows when? I have to be in the right mood to do musical stuff, as visual art comes a lot easier for me. I do know I want one more instrument to fall in after the theme transition, but should I go with an electric guitar or some piano?
Wow, thats pretty good if you used a normal typing keyboard to make it. I've never tried making a song using a normal keyboard. I usually add notes with my mouse.

"should I go with an electric guitar or some piano?"
I'd go with piano, but I'll let you decide :P
