Grouped volume control in song editor

I use the individual notes volume sliders fairly often, and sometimes I want to raise or lower the volume for a bunch at a time.
It'll be really useful if you could affect all selected notes somehow - maybe shift to set all selected volume to the same level and ctrl to raise/lower all selected volumes by the same amount (so if I had notes in different volumes, changing the overall volume would really simple).
I know automation can to that, but a. it's not as straightforward and b. I don't want a lot of automation tracks just to make little volume changes.
