foolish Wiki shenanigans

So I'm not entirely sure that this is the right place to post this but

A while ago, someone in the LMMS-Devel mailing list was collecting volunteers for wiki service. Always being one to jump at the chance of easing the workload of my peers, I naturally signed up at the first possible opportunity.

...boring story cut short - in a staggering feat of stupidity remarkable even for me, I misplaced both my password and the mailing list thread within minutes of logging in.

So I bring my troubles here. Is there any way my wiki account could be reset, or some such remedial action be performed?

could you try to just create a new account? I dont think that is impossible, but just try it, and see if you get acceptet ..?

Unfortunately, it seems only administrators are permitted to create new accounts.


In fact, the registration page isn't even shown on the list of special pages.


[incidentally, is there some form of spoiler code? these are obnoxiously large images...]

ahhh yes... forgot about that - currently the wiki management is messed up - i knew about that, forgot it..
I will have to speak with someone else on this one -sorry

Thank you all so much for responding! I'm sorry I haven't been very responsive over the last week - I was busy, and didn't manage to check my emails...

Hi, I'm the wiki maintainer, sorry for this, I'll try to fix user permissions now so you can access the reset password form ASAP.


P.S. I'm also terribly sorry for you waiting so long on the wiki acc. The thing is we had to disable account creation back when the wiki was on SF because of constant flow of spammers. The wiki was also 4 years old and did not have any spam protetction. I'll look into CAPTCHA protection for spammers and possibly bring back the public account creation, because I've updated the wiki to a newer version with better spam fighting capabilites.

Ah, don't worry about it! It was entirely my own fault in the first place =)
