How do I un-automate a knob?

So I'm learning about automation and doing this in a song I'm working on. I added the pan knobs from two of my tracks but it's not working how I'd hoped it would. Doing ctrl+z didn't help get them out of there. Right clicking on those pan knobs and clicking on random things in the dialog box didn't stop it either.

Am I just screwed and have to rebuild that automation track or is there a way to get the pan knobs out of there? I'm kinda stumped.

I'm kind of confused by the question, but if you mean what I think you mean, you can delete the automation track and re-place it. There's nothing linked to it at that point so you can link what you need to. To save time you can copy/paste the original automation track.

Okay. Just thought there might've been a way to get the two pan knobs off of that automation. I'll do what you suggested once I get home from work.

Thanks :)

Right click on the automation track and choose what connections you want to disconnect

exactly as sti-jay says, automation-tracks hold information about all the connections that has been made to the drawn curve -However, unless the automation is for dials that are identical, but on different presets, i would advice against having several dials automated by the same automation track.
You quikly loose ..track (:p) of what you have connected to which automation, and it can be a drag to figure out why a certain dial moves, when you return to the project after a +month.
Also some times the span of the automation, will be different for two controllers. If you then chenge the connections, suddenly a completely different span could be used, and you would have a broken track.
I recommend one automation for each automated element, but thats just imo

I never thought about right clicking on the automation. Definitely going to do that when I'm home.

And I'll check out those videos as well. My two days off can't get here quick enough.

I got the panning off of that automation track. I'm going to be making a new one for those probably two of them since I don't want them to pan in the same direction.

I'm watching your videos now musickbear getting lots of information from them.
