I thnik it would be cool if you were able to trigger beat patterns using a MIDI signal. This would allow you to use LMMS as a performance software.

This is what I used as a Linux kernel test with LMMS. It worked great, as I ran LMMS with this in the music editor. I looked at how much memory and processor power was being used. Then I found the best kernel for my hardware, and software setup.

Linux kernels are not a one size fit's all, I you have a 3 to 5 year old computer the best version maybe 3.7.10 if you have a new computer less than a year old. 3.19.20 would be the best match for the newer hardware.
