Beat and bassline editor

At the start, I add maybe three instruments to the Beat and bassline editor, eg bass drum, snare, high hat. And then add steps as necessary, and the steps increase the same for each instrument.
But when I want to add other instrument/s, the steps do not match the initial three instrument/s, and adding further steps just increases the difference. Can steps be added to individual instruments, so that they can be matched with the original instruments? Hope that makes sense.

Also, I know it's advised to start a new thread for each question, but I feel I'm starting a lot of threads so I'll ask this here as well. The main song editor has disappeared from one of my projects and I can't seem to get it back, so the project is basically gone as well. The B and B editor is still there though. Any ideas on this?

The steps of all the instruments in the bbe playing together should be the same number.

So if first one is 12 then the other need to be 12 too.

1) Put the screenshot image on a pic hosting site, like imgur, or any other site of your choice.

2) Copy the link for the pic and paste it in your post.

3) Highlight the pics link and press the insert image icon.
The insert image icon, is located at the top right hand side, of your text post screen.
It's a small icon, that looks like a mountain and a sun in the sky.

So it shows how the first four instruments are matched because they were added at the same time, and therefore when the bars are increased they increase together.

But when I add other instruments, like 5 and 6, I can't make them match the bars of the first four.

Yes now i understand. Its easy to fix
* right-click on any of those with correct number of slots
* select copy
* right-click on the one with wrong number of slots
* select paste
Lmms will create the number of slots and will btw also copy the pattern, but that you just edit afterwards, as you like.

Thanks. Another thing while on the subject... If I want to increase the bars and for them have the same drum pattern as existing, do I need to enter everything again? Or can it be copied?

you have to reduce them all down to same size/number of steps, then increase... you loose any data entered... a real pain... I dont like B&BL editor, I only use for Kick drum, and that is only coz it clicks to add a new segment rather than ctrl drag drop lol
