Windows 7 - Runtime Error on Start-up

I'm running Windows 7 Enterprise on an i5-4210U w/ 8gb Ram. 64-bit

I downloaded 1.1.3 (or whatever the "Stable" version on the official site is) and tried to use it for the first time, but I'm getting a C++ Runtime Library error. Specifically,

"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information"

I press Ok and it stops working then closes down. I've looked through these forums and I've seen people with similar issues, although rarely on their first download try. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling as an admin to no avail. Please help a rookie out!

For that i got a LMMS rookie-guide -Link in signature.
But that will pretty useless, if we cant solve this
C++ Runtime Library error.

So you have done it right and i think you may also have seen the post i made yesterday addressing this issue..
http://lmms.io/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=17951

But did you remember to move the config-file?

You describe your issue and everything sharply and concise, so i think you know your way around programs :p

I wonder if it is possible to 'cheat' interprice-edd checkup..

Take this code

Code: Select all

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<!DOCTYPE lmms-config-file>
<lmms version="1.1.3">
  <app nomsgaftersetup="0" displaydbv="0" nommpz="1" configured="1"/>
  <audioportaudio backend="MME" device="Microsoft Sound Mapper - Input"/>
  <audiosdl device=""/>
  <mixer framesperaudiobuffer="6400" hqaudio="1" audiodev="SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer)" mididev="WinMM MIDI"/>
  <recentfiles>
  </recentfiles>
</lmms>

Copy this exactly as it is written here inside the code-box, and paste it into an empty file in a proper code-editor! NOT 'Word' or similar text-program
Save the file as

.lmmsrc.xml

The dot infront MUST be there!
Insert the file in
C:\Users\<Username>\<here>

If there already is a file with that name move it to an empty new folder and delete the whole folder

Im really curious is this works, so please report back

Hi,

I had the same issue and popped in to thank you for the fix and let you know that it works for the start up error, but if I try access the Settings I get the same runtime error again :(

-Cheers
