Just installed LMMS 0.4.8 on Fedora 12 using the add/remove software function.
My system is barely adequate, 700mhz & 640MB RAM.
The samples previews are all staticy - no usable sound. When I look at home/me/lmms, the folders are all empty.
Should I be seeing the sample files there?

don't know whether you found a solution already but you should have a look here:
http://lmms.sourceforge.net/wiki/index. ... irectories (and set a different working directory ->your sample directory)

you can also use the side-bar (http://lmms.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/0.4:Side_Bar) to browse your samples
(home directory or root file system to open folders with your own sample content)
