clicking noise at end of samples

hey, just wondering if anybody knows how to fix this. There's a weird clicking sound at the end (?) of some of the samples. I'm using the Bit invader and triple oscillator along with other ones. I'm playing it back in 160 bpm. I'm running version 4.8 on windows 7 (64). My computer is less than a year old and it's not bad at all so i'm not sure if it's a problem with compatibility, the program, hardware (audiocard) or what. Sf2, VeSTige won't make any noise at all when i put them on the time line. Help? Anyone

Whitch presets exactly (the names)?

In general Click termination artifacts happens when a note is terminated in a 'high amplitude' state. To avoid this you can alter how the note terminates.

In the bitInvader collection there is a preset named subbass.xpf. That has a nasty little artifact on note termination.

Open ENV/LFO
set VOLUME envelope-AMT to max
Alter release (REL) to 0.1
(-I btw think that it has this value as a factory-standard?)
Now play a note. The click is gone.
A release > 0 will terminate the note on (progresive) lower amplitude. The higher value of REL the longer 'sing' to the instrument.

Try REL at 0.8 -you now have a 'string' like sound.

Similar, clicks in the start of a note can be fixed by adding a tiny amount of attack (ATT). In this case the note begin at progresive lover amplitude.

Play with the envelopes -you can get completely new sounds this way

So pretty much just try playing with customizing the sounds a bit more and that should help? Thanks, I'll give it a shot and let you know if it fixes it.

yes, it should remove the clicks -i just added that its in the VOLUME envelope you need to work with the values of ATT and REL. LMMS has also envelopes for CUTOFF and RESO, and the neat thing is that these envelopes are independent! Very good effects can be achived with these settings (you may like to look at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SRzIcJ31Yjc), but click artifacts are best removed in the VOLUME envelope.

Got some of them to sound better. triple Oscillator is till sounding clicky, but i found another bass line i can use so i'm just gonna use that and save myself the trouble.

Hey Muski! I'm using a preset called rave_choir01 and they are being played in fairly quick succession at 130 bpm. I tried adjusting attack and release in volume, cutoff and resonance, with no success. Any ideas?

Yes some samples are difficult, but thats because they have starts or ends out of 0 dB. Then you need to adjust that!
Look at this img:

The selected area inside the blue rectangle is click-free, because both start & end-pos is at the 0 dB line.
All the points points are good pos. everything else is not!
So use the start-end-selection in AudioFileProcessor

And set those to the 0 dB-line. That shold remove your artefact.

The points that you said are at 0 dB, are actually at negative infinite dB and they are called zero-crossing points.

The blue one ? -Oh, but they are AT 0 dB, right. When a waveform reach this value, the sound is gone, but its fine to learn, that it has a real technical term for it too -thanks!
