I like to use sample and it's not easy in lmms
so why don't add

adding pitch modulation and perhaps panning

if x is volume and d distortion(vbetween 1 and 10)

tan - (Dx) would make a non linear clipping

you could also do tan (D/ -x)

or D power tan - x

i would be cool in the beat editor that you can select some trigs then add a trig and with right click copy selection of the allready copied selection
