Alesis QX49

I just bought a Alesis QX49 midi piano and im trying to use it in lmms. i have a friend whos good with computers helping me but he cant even figure it out. In the setting under midi it continues to go back to dummy when we need it to stay on alsa raw midi. I also have both jack and jack2 install i cant uninstall jack2 for some reason i tried it shows in error. can someone help with this i dont wanna have to go back to fl studio please and thank.

so update flstudio connects with the piano and works fine this is all through linux mint kde 18.1. So i figure lmms doesnt even recognize the piano

Hi!

I'm also on mint. I use a utility called patchage which shows graphically what connects to where. That may help you.
As for the Jack question I wouldn't have a clue unfortunately.
