Am I crazy or does everything have reverb?

Having trouble with LMMS? Ask about it here.
I'm going to apologise ahead of time. I'm completely new to LMMS and I haven't utilized my knowledge of music in quite some time now.

As I've been using LMMS recently, I noticed that there seemed to be reverb attached to everything. I mean, everything. I know I can add a reverb effect (I watched some tutorials) but when I look under FX, there's no plugin.

Please, correct me if I'm wrong. I may be misunderstanding or missing something. I hate sounding like a complete n00b. My tracks sound like they're flooded with reverb and I can't seem to figure out why or how to turn it off.

Again, I apologise for my ignorance.
Can you give a bit more detail of "everything"? I.e. what sort of tracks have you been making, using which instruments or samples ? Are you using VSTs, if so which ones?

Also what operating system are you using and what "Audio Interface" is set up in Settings? In some cases it's possible to get a sort of delay that feeds back through the sound card and it could sound a little bit like reverb.

You had good inputs from Steve. To sum things up, what we ask for is:
post your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* lmms sound device chosen
* a sound-file on soundcloud or a similar service
Again, I apologise for my ignorance.
Nothing to apologise for, nobody knows anything before they learn or discover them. Perhaps my LMMS rookie-guide can interest you? Link in signature.

I know I can add a reverb effect (I watched some tutorials) but when I look under FX, there's no plugin.
Concerning the reverb plugins, there are:

- C * plate2x2
- Calf Reverb LADSPA
- TAP Reverberator
- Freeverb

Two ways to access effects plugins:
- click on "Add effect" in the FX tab of each synth available in LMMS,
- click on "Add effect" in the "EFFECTS CHAIN" associated with each slice of the FX-Mixer.

Does that answer your request?

Hello and welcome to the forums Electronic Unicorn.

If you have made any simple tracks in Lmms....
Can you post/upload, a small simple audio example track etc. so we could hear this
reverby problem you're hearing?
If you want, you could post this small track, on Youtube, soundcloud or any other
audio uploading site of your choice etc.
I'm so sorry. I didn't think to add such information, but it makes perfect sense. I presumed it was some obvious thing I had overlooked and it had a simple explanation. I just recently started using LMMS, if you can't tell.

I'm currently running:
LMMS v1.1.3
Windows 10 v1703, build 15063.413
Intel i5-7400 @ 3GHz
16GB DDR4 RAM @ 2400MHz
Integrated sound card
Logitech 2.1 Desktop Speakers/Beats Earbud Headphones

Whilst using LMMS, I chose to utilize various instruments and sounds from the "My Samples" section of the side panel menu. For the track I was writing, I chose "bassdrum_acoustic01.ogg" and "snare06".ogg" to start my percussion section. Once I had stacked a few layers of other instruments/sounds on top of that, I started to wonder to myself. Is it just me or is there way too much reverb bouncing around?

I brought up the "My Samples" section from the side panel menu again. As I clicked down through the list of the various instruments in the drums section I could tell (unless I'm crazy, and I'm willing to accept that possibility) that all the sounds had reverb attached to them.

Scratching my head, I immediately turned to the Song Editor. I clicked on the "Beat/Bassline 0" label to bring up the Beat+Bassline Editor. I then clicked on the "bassdrum_acoustic 02.ogg" label to bring up the instrument's plugin general settings module. Upon clicking on the "FX" tab, where one would add various effects like reverb, I saw the section was already devoid of any sort of effects. When I click on the piano keys along the bottom of the general setting module for a sample, I can hear the reverb there too. This is the point where I become confused.

I understand that if I click on "add effect" and type reverb into the search entry field, I can add and effect like "C* Plate2x2" or "Calf Reverb". That would allow me the capability to adjust the wet level and whatnot. It just seems I have reverb with no effect in place yet.

Be honest. Am I mad? Am I using the wrong thing(s)? Am I missing something obvious? I just wanted a nice dry, clean, crisp thump for a floor base.

Thank you everyone. I really appreciate all of your patience and willingness to help.
UPDATE:

I am so very sorry that I bothered all of you. I just now discovered what my problem was. In all my efforts in exploring LMMS, it appears I had ended up attaching a reverb effect to the FX mixer and did not realize it. Having just started using LMMS, I don't normally have the FX Mixer window up with everything else. I'm not very experienced with it yet. Obviously.

I feel mortified, but appreciative of everyone and their willingness to help. I will be using the YouTube links for certain.

Thank you all.
It is easy to get lost in the management of effects (which is often my case ...).

So, it's all right :)
