Hello

I have Ubuntu 16.10 and I installed LMMS using apt-get.

When I hit play on the sample project, I see the it starts to play, but I get no sound.

I've tried a few links, tried a few tips. Trouble, is nothing works and I
don't know what I'm doing.

Should I switch to Windows?

I don't believe.

Can you describe the problem more in details?

Does this happen on all your projects?
Is this the first time this happens?
Maybe you never had any sound using LMMS?

But no luck.

I don't know what ALSA or JACK are or anything.... But I'll have a look at the resources you linked.

Then maybe I can have more intelligible questions to ask
