Yop,

As a first attempt to use LMMS, I tried to make a dub version of Bob Marley's "Night Shift" (could be worse, "No Woman No Cry" for example). Thanks to the guys who posted the bass line and the chords, being a poor drummer, I could not have guessed them by myself...

The MP3 encoding from Audacity seems a bit weird, maybe I did not select the right options when exporting the song. This is quite new for me...

Yah bro, see, my soundcloud comments: It's awesome! I love the whole reggae attitude, mixed with dubstepish savageness. It rocks
What I noticed, is that this sounds really organic.
It sounds as if it were being played live, in front of a large concert audience.
Very cool. :)
Really well done!

Gps is going to be happy!
Thank you guys (no ladies as it seems) for your positive vibrations, he he he

Most of the tracks are samples, from LKJ, Marley and UB40. I will surely replace LKJ's bass by a more "roots" version taken from the Garvey's Ghost album of Burning Spear, as soon as the sample is ready.

Special greeting to my fellow citizen D.Ipsum, the "final mix" of the song was made while drinking a blue Chimay beer (my own roots...)

Hello to you dear neighbor! And cheers!

If you want, you can place the links to your Soundcloud, LSP, etc. accounts (or whatever you want) in your signature.
Yop,

Yet another night shift, with a rootser bass sound, a bit work on the open hihat and more delay.

Since I can not replace the old version (I have no pro account on Soundcloud), I created another entry:

Regarding the samples you use, are they one-shot or sequences?
Do you use a combination of synth / samples or just samples?
A dub version, now thats been a while I heard that word.

I like it, sounds good.
Yop!

@D.Ipsum : No sequence here, just one shots. And soundfonts for the guitars (chords and "solo")

@Gps: dub is what I've been listening to from the mid seventies (my gosh, 40 years of dub, time flies...)
