Why does The DSK_Saxophone VST sometimes crash on reload?

A weird thing that I've noticed is that sometimes, the DSK_Saxophone VST sometimes (about 50/50) crashes when I reload a project, so it's not totally incompatible with LMMS, but I just want to understand why it does this. When it does crash, it gives me this error message as feedback:
Sounds like other people have had this issue as well, though not all.

Any VSTs which are made using the Maize sample player can be fairly flaky in general. That includes several of the DSK instruments.
LMMS does seem to be one of the DAWs that has most difficulties with them though.

Are the developers trying to implement a fix for this in future versions of LMMS?

Yes. It may be fixed already as we recently applied some fixes for vst issues.

The fixes so far, did not help on
this Maize problem. But several other VSTs from the
NO-GO-list, will be
off the list! Notably
BlueCat-Suite !
(afaik -its not a promise :'P
