Massive slowdown when using Sample Tracks

I had someone do some vocals for me but there is massive slowdown when I use a sample track, is there a possible workaround for that?

Okay:
How many minutes, (or how long) is the sample?

What file format, is it saved in eg. wav. or ogg?

What is the size, of the sample. eg.25 mb or 35 mb etc?

It is most likely a HW issue. You may get better result, if you split the wavefile in shorter parts, like 4 pieces, but i need to know about your hw and lmms
please post your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* Latency setting
* lmms sound device chosen

In general, i would not use a four mins soundfile, i would only use those parts, where the artist sings, and cur away everything where there is no singing, then import the pieces to separate Sample-track s, and place them manually.
