Are there any workarounds for this issue? It is so annoying!

i can...
No the reason for this, is that the system lmms was build on, has a B-drive, it is most likely a SSD on that slot
When stable release comes, it will be fixed
Just click 'Continue' and you are good to go
Incedently, you will the popup for each axillary disk you have, so detach USB drives that are not relevant for your usage of lmms, before the start
