New producer - Trap/Hip-hop beats

Share and discuss your LMMS music projects here, and see what people think!
Hey everyone,

I just started producing music in October with LMMS. I have never played an instrument before, let alone produce a music track. But I have always liked music and decided to give it a try! After some tutorials, I managed to lay down some tracks that I want to share.

Please feel free to give me advice or criticism ! It is all welcome (and much needed :D )

This is the link to my soundcloud. If I had to make ONE suggestion, PLUCK is my personal favorite and my most recently produced track. Thanks !

shootah has a twinkling, dreamy melody that sounds more like a watered down version of the vaporwave sprinkled with trap flavor that blank banshee was popular for. it sounds like you could have added more melodies, but the subtle-ness is probably what you were going for and what would make it a strong instrumental.
but for the most part, these tracks would be held in higher regard if it was released as a "pop-ier" trap track. i would imagine someone like lil uzi going on this if it had a more dominant melody
Thanks for listening dude,

I feel like that is the hardest part about not really having any music experience; coming up with melodies! I often struggle with creating complimenting melodies.

I like your beats as well. I assume they are made with LMMS? Very creative

melodies are usually the first thing i come up with because the beat is pretty typical. especially with trap/rap. something that sounds decent when looped is enough for a lot of producers.
i actually got a hold of lmms around the same time you did. October is my birthday so that's when i first got a hold of lmms.

it took a while later to get headphones tho
The looping is enough for me as long as it has a little variety at the end, also with a good supporting melody or two. I can usually come up with a main melody, but complimenting melodies and trying to get the correct sound can be tough.

I am having a blast learning though. Maybe I should actually read up on music theory to help with composing melodies?

Shootah: Sounds really decent. And it has that modern, street vibe sound, to it too.

Pluck: Has a nice melodious, jinglish sound to it.
After listening to it, I can understand, why this one is your personal fav.
