Dear LMMS friends;

it's been some weeks since I've last posted.
First I would like to wish you a happy new year 2018 with its lots of fullfillment, experiences and surprises !

Secondly I come to show you my latest track, which could totally fit in my "chill-universe" theme playlist :
https://soundcloud.com/marvin-shmn/faraway-tale

This track is born in 4-5 hours. I was comparing different chords on the same top note (major 7th, minor 7th, major, major 9th) and then I got a feeling that this uncommon progression was chill af. Result : it gives a 4-chord progression with a different key each time : C-C#m-G#m-A; so my efforts to follow music theory are again turned down ^^.
The track also includes :
- my first sidechain trial
- effects : Calf Reverb, C*Eq, Calf Pulsator (renders good in earphones)
- a bridge
- a pre-conclusion
- overly simple perc pattern (still not my mastery field)

I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it and using it for meditation haha !
Cheers,

Edit : Since I've posted another track later in this topic, here it is : Lucid Dreaming

Relaxing one.

Typically, on this type of track, it makes me want to play with automations effects, graduall, to find out what can be hidden.

Thanks a lot for the feedback people !

I still feel like I am not handling everything well - like melodies, drum patterns, etc... But I do my best offering at least nice sound design and cool chords / color notes, fortunate stackings, etc.

@D.Ipsum in my new piece I tried to dig some more things, you may want to check it : Lucid Dreaming

Actually I have one automation running there but I am not sure what it does. It affects the "Attack" parameter in the Peak Controller I use for my sidechain.

Lol on the visual of Lucid Dreaming, an inspiring title. Nice development, very quiet, the aquatic effects used speak to me (it reminds me of a track of Symbient in which I was also absorbed by the aquatic effects), a discreet incursion of drums, pleasant.

Thanks mister.

One of my friends was also caught by this aquatic ambiance.
This aquatic sounds are performed with one of the built-in elements from ZynAddSubFX.

That's cool; I hope I will find ways to use it again.
