simplest way is to insert dummy notes for 2 bars in the block you want to record in, you caqn then see and hear the record pos getting closer, and record at the exact moment.
Metronome as such cant be user-set.

Again -no, but you can also put in a dummy-track, that makes that kind of audible alert.

Count down for recording is being worked on but it isn't going to be in the very next release. (lmms-1.2)
