Some speakers go silent

Hello, I'm a hobbyist using LMMS 1.2.0 on windows,
with a bunch of VSTs and a soundfont, but there is something I
find odd about the finaly produced sound.

Although I have a 5.1 speaker setup, only 2 out of those 5 speakers play sound,
while the rest just remain silent (The woofer among them sadly).

That only happens with LMMS. Audio from other sources plays just fine on my system.
Now I don't expect any special surround effects, but not getting any sound from 3 out of 5
speakers seems a little odd.

Is this an expected behavior on LMMS?
If not, what might I be doing wrong?
If yes, is there a way to make it support 5.1?
Thank you very much.

Im afraid this is so. I went through our issue db, and surround is not mentioned at all, so it look like this feature-request is a first.
You can create a formal request here;
