Project deleted and has entered the upsidedown..

I had a saved project , but every time i tried to open it lmms would crash. I though maybe changing the name of the file would make it open , but when I tried to save the new name lmms crashed. When I opened lmms back up neither name appeared as saved in projects. I can see the original project in my recently saved but when I try to open it lmms says "Could not open file C:/Users/chann/lmms/projects/ cg .mmpz. You probably have no permissions to read this file.
Please make sure to have at least read permissions to the file and try again."

Is there any way for me to recover this project?

OK i found the project and took off the bak file thing and the project is back , now lmms keeps crashing when i try and open it, what can i do?

Depends on the error. firstly, how big is the mmpz file?
If it is below 2 kb in size, it is most likely corrupted, and then there is noting to do.
Saving even an empty project in lmms as a mmpz-file, will create a 2 kb sized file, so if it is smaller, then its faulty ao truncated.
If it is larger, it is possible that we can do something
So larger or not ?
