How can I play another track while still in the piano roll window? I want to create midi's from songs, but find it difficult that I can't playback in the piano-roll for better precision. I'm very new and like to know if this is a feature...

Yes it is.
You can see 'how' in my video here:

I do write 'how', because your need is slightly different. You need to :
* Use the RC5 version for in-wave-pattern-restarts
* set focus on the sample-track, in song-editor, instead of the note-containing block, that is shown in the video.
So 'similar' but not identical.
If you find it difficult, let me know, then i can make a better vid for your specific issue

But when set them to "After stopping keep position" the sample track goes mute. Does it only work on "After stopping go back to beginning"?

No should not, but that was why i as first pre-request wrote

Use the RC5 version

Earlier versions (RC1<) does not have ability to play sample-tracks from all positions, so if you still use 1.1.3, you will not be able to.
