Okay. Two important questions.

Did you put the vst's, in the Lmms vst plugin folder?

And could you tell us, the name of the vst effects, that you downloaded?

Ok, first
What do you mean by 'effects' are they plugins -eg VSTs like Brandy ask, or are they indeed sound-files with recorded effects?

If they are VSTs, its a sad fact, that most VSTs effects, does not work in lmms. Its being worked at.
However all BlueCat Suite VSTs now does work in RC5, and they are excellent effects!

If not solved
please post your:
* OS (+service-pack-version)
* lmms version
* hardware specification (ram & soundcard is the most important)
* names and best download links of the failing vst's

yes they are in lmms/plugins/ladspa

its the eq NyquistEq5
