What genre?

I've just made a piece that doesn't totally annoy me after listening to it for a few times and have now published it on youtube:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhPs-fBBhY0

Trying to think of how this should/would be classified (apart from 'total c**p' that is). So this is my question - what genre? if any?

Best regards to all

I vote for hip hop as genre.

But he melody hmm. I like it, but it does not fit for hip hop.

You should not worry about what genre it is though.

Many thanks for taking the time to listen and reply.

I spent some time looking up hip hop, indie, rock and a lot of the sub categories they have created and I think that your comment about not bothering about this sort of stuff is good advice!!

Best regards

You can say that you make electronic music (in the video, it is written electric music).

Welcome to the lmms forums ronda. :)

Wow! The track has good beats. And the synth sounds and melodies from 1:14 sec
sounded quite interestingly amazing. I like the style.

As for the tune, it doesn't sound annoying, or super repetitive though.
And it's not too bland, or dull, or boring either.
I rate it an 85% out of 100. 8-)

PS: Forget about genre. Make your own genre. And enjoy! ;)

Thank you for your comment. Yes you are right, it does fall into that category.

I decided to call it electric music because it was made using electricity only - not with a physical instrument which was then processed and or amplified.

Most likely it's just not my type, in general, the melody is harmonious, but slightly boring. Genre is House or hip-hop
