Is there a shortcut for adding new instruments?

Usually I just drag them into the song editor from the menu on the side, but there's one project I'm working on now that has a LOT of tracks in the song editor, and every time I try to drag in a new instrument I end up accidentally replacing an existing one with the one I'm trying to add. And since the "undo" button doesn't undo that particular action, I've had to reload the project several times and it's causing a lot of headaches. The only workaround I've been able to find is to keep stretching the song editor downward until empty space pops up but this is kind of a hassle. Is there a shortcut for adding instruments that would save me having to do this?

If you drag the new instrument, onto the gray border, bottom part of the piano roll, it won't replace an instrument, but add a new one.
